A Family Tradition Since 1798
The story of J. McCarthy Ltd began in Westminster, London, in 1798, when the business was established by John McCarthy.
For more than two centuries, the business has remained within the same family, passing through successive generations and preserving a tradition of craftsmanship, knowledge and personal service.
During the Second World War, the original premises were destroyed in the Blitz. Despite this considerable disruption, the business continued, maintaining its family heritage through the generations that followed.
Today, J. McCarthy Ltd is run by Robert Mullings, a direct descendant of John McCarthy, from its office and workshop at 49 Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair.
