A beautiful antique circa 1900, 18ct gold three-stone ring, set with three oval opals displaying vibrant flashes of blue, green and violet, interspersed with small old-cut diamonds. The richly coloured stones are framed by an intricately worked gold setting, with scrolling foliate decoration to the shoulders and gallery, characteristic of late Victorian and early Edwardian jewellery. An elegant and unusual period ring, combining the distinctive character of antique opals with finely detailed gold craftsmanship.
